Before

Here, at age 3, my chin is pretty much in line with my nose and my left jaw bone looks normal.  There is no real evidence that one joint is underdeveloped.

Age 5 - In hindsight, I can pick out a small amount of pinching near the left corner of my lip and my left jaw bone has a slight curve, but my chin is still aligned and there isn't any other indication of a problem.

This is around the time I first started seeing an orthodontist.  By this point, I favored short hair, which clearly showed my face, and my left joint had stopped growing while the right side continued to grow normally.  The asymmetry was becoming more obvious.

High School Senior - My braces had been removed for about two years.  Asymmetry is still apparent, but it was at this point that I opted out of surgery.  I believed that the problem was merely cosmetic and didn't want to spend the summer before college in recovery.

2007 - You can clearly see how my left side is pinched up toward my left ear.

This photo from 2011 shows how my chin is pushed to the left.
